How do I make a panning background in OBS?

Add an Image source in OBS with one of our ultra-wide images. Right-click the source, go to Transform > Edit Transform, and set the image wider than your canvas. Then use the Move Source plugin or add a Scroll filter to slowly pan across the image. The wider the image, the longer the pan before it loops.

What image size works best for OBS scrolling backgrounds?

The wider the better for smooth, long panning. Our 5120x1440 images give excellent results for 1080p streams, and 7680x2160 images work beautifully for 4K streaming setups. Download at the source resolution using our smart crop tool for maximum quality.

Will this slow down my stream?
