What size should a Keynote background be?

Keynote's default slide size is 1920x1080 (16:9). For retina displays on MacBooks and iPads, use 3840x2160 (4K) for pixel-perfect sharpness. Our smart crop tool lets you download at either resolution, or any custom size if you've changed your Keynote slide dimensions.

How do I add a custom background in Keynote?

Select a slide, open the Format panel on the right, click the Background dropdown, choose "Image" or "Advanced Image Fill", then click "Choose" to upload your downloaded image. You can apply it to individual slides or edit the master slide to apply it to all slides at once.

Can I use these on iPad Keynote?
